my childhood dance teacher passed away recently, all of the former dancers and teachers from our school had a memorial luncheon/reunion. not all dance teachers are monsters or unfriendly.

My daughter played volleyball for years. We were incredibly blessed with her coaches. But the things that I saw with other teams was unbelievable.

I’ve had kind and loving dance teachers and cruel dance teachers. It took years to realize that being treated that way wasn’t okay. I feel a bit bad for Jojo Siwa because I was much older before (1)

The 10yrs I did ballet was a bit of a nightmare. Same with when I did track. So I don’t push my kids to do sports or things like that.

I was a dancer from 5-college, never professionally or competitive on a major scale, but yeah I had very Abby like coaches, as did my sister, dance moms seemed a little exaggerated for TV but fairly🦋

My dance teacher become a close friend to the whole family. My sister now works for her business, I'm a carer for her daughter and our kids are taught dance by her and love her too

i thought the same way as jojo does until i got out of that arts program & started therapy. this emotional child abuse in the arts affects us way more than we think.

Umm no. I’ve competitively danced and no they aren’t all like that. Also fun fact the other dance teachers she’s referring to is her MOM. Her mom owned the dance studio she was at BEFORE dance moms.

When I was little, I had a dance teacher that wanted me on a salad diet at 9. I quit that year because she made me hate it. Went back to another studio at 13, had an amazing teacher and loved it

um no. my dance teacher was like my mom to me. she was kind, loving and supportive. yeah she'd work me a bit hard but she also understood I was just a child and she'd never treat me that way.

I trained in classical ballet for 12 years and almost all the teachers I had were extremely abusive.the way it’s framed tho is that it’s for your benefit because these ppl know what they’re doing
