Because they are technically not being paid until the door closes. Perhaps that’s why? They did hand out wipes so perhaps could but guessing that’s why

I’ve definitely thought about doing it at the end of the flight, but the biggest reason we don’t do it at the beginning is it would slow down boarding and potentially make everyone late :(

Bc there are already a million other things going on during boarding. & no crew starts out deciding they aren’t going to do a service, so there’s no reason to hand it out during boarding.

Hi flight attendants here, it’s an FAA rule that we have to pick up anything we serve on the ground before take off Whether that’s drinks or snacks. And we aren’t actually getting paid on the ground

Catering often comes during boarding so we don’t even have them or if we do, theyre still wrapped in plastic. We’re also busy doing a lot of other, more important tasks during boarding (Without pay😊)

it’s actually an FAA regulation that youre not allowed to have food or drinks distrubuted by the airline during taxi/takeoff/landing, it would have to all be stowed or collected before pushback

They did this right after COVID. I think it was American, pretzels and a small bottle of water. This flight was a few hours though so idk if they were doing it for shorter flights too.

Because, per the FAA, the boarding time is just for that: boarding. Safety procedures are the only focus: Bags, Bins, and Exit Briefings ☺️
