You know that the globe view on that software is just for visualization purposes? The calculations are made on planar mode. Go and check the manufacturers datasheet.

Earth was charted using Euclidean planar geometry in 1500s. The globe simply transposed these chart coordinates to a sphere. Spherical non Euclidean geometry was not used until 1850
