Did it hurt? Yes. Did my husband completely oppose at first? Yes. Was it worth it? I think so, lol. My husband? Debatable. 🫠 Quick story time ⬇️ A year ago, I saw an opportunity to sell our home and buy one in a neighboring town with a community pool, playground, walking trail, and highly-rated school district. It was a bit of a stretch but we had built enough equity on our home to be able to put down a decent sized downpayment and buy our rate down. However, it would mean losing our COVID interest rate 💔 We even tried to make it work by keeping our home at the time to rent out but couldn’t make that work unfortunately. So, while my husband was seeing numbers, I saw…. ✔️an opportunity to be part of a community I’ve always dreamed of where my kids have endless neighborhood friends, a community pool and playground ✔️700 more sq feet...felt A LOT in the living room/kitchen (better suited for my new remote job) ✔️an additional room to give the kids more space ✔️highly rate school No brainer, right? Lol, wellllll it would mean a higher mortgage payment but it would also mean paying off all our debt in the process from our home equity so..girl math..it evens out, right? 🤣 Tbh, my husband and I aren’t 100% on the same page about this to this day, but here’s something we both agree on. We are extremely thankful that we purchased our condo in 2019 for $139k to give us the flexibility and options TODAY that otherwise wouldn’t have been available to us… I am so thankful we jumped through the hoops then to buy that condo because our lifestyle 6 years later has everything to do with it. Was it challenging then? Yes. But 6 years later, I can assure you it was 100% worth it. Let's talk about your dream home! 📲 815-791-3226 #nashvillerealtor #nashvillerealestate #nashvillehomes #nashvillehomesforsale #nashvillebars #nashvillelife
