Our basement has cinder block and we bought it with a crack. It runs along the mortar lines. My husband put more mortar in it and it never changed over 5 years.. good sign I guess?

There is a difference between cinder block and concrete block. I think cinder block hasn’t been made in US for at least 60 years or more

My exterior veneer had the same issue. Filled the cracks and 10 yrs later no issues.
