I've got post up for 25+ years. dig a hole six inches deeper than normal. Put a half bag of rocks before concrete. Post should sit on rocks.

PT is just a fungacide. it depends where you live for ground rot vs remedial rot to be more active. Canada has 4 seasons and microbial spores are more active at surgace. Arizona would be the opposite.

any wood underground will rot if there is enough water. I think the best option for a fence will always be steel tubing in concrete for posts with fasteners to a wooden fence.

Yup I agree. Anytime I had a pressure treated post rot. It was right at ground level.

I agree with the rotting at the ground level. Burning wood surface also repels microorganisms.

You Chaar the 2 feet that’s going in ground then brush some warm pine tar from the bottom to 3 inches above the soil line. It’ll last about 80 to 90 years.

That has no use. It will decay where the waterstands on the Ground. The best thing you can do is put it off the ground.That would be better next the life expectancy doubles.
