There was outrage and Downing Street targeted the Corporation like never before. Gilligan's intelligence had to have come from a very senior source, and following an incident in Oxfordshire on 17 July 2003, it was evident from whence it came. Kelly met with the investigator at theCHARING CROSS HOTEL where the MOD man outlined his reasons for opposing war. Days after his death it was discovered he had sent an e-mail to a journalist in New York saying: 'There are dark players at work': Indeed, several leading medical professionals joined together and said the wounds on his body were not consistent with suicide. Many people still believe Kelly was murdered. Seven years later the MINISTRY OF JUSTICE, published its classifiedfindings into Kelly's death in order to maintain public confidence. The MOJ also released details of the post mortem which concluded the scientist had killed himself.
