We revealed Chandler’s big Christmas surprise to him today. 🎁 We needed to tell him early so we can prepare for the big day ahead of time! He was so overwhelmed and grateful. After this video he asked to go to the bedroom with me and he melted into my chest with lots of tears and hugs. It has been a long wait for him to get the puppy of his dreams and we promised him when he was ready we would make it happen. 💙🐾 After Jake’s unexpected passing, I knew that we had a little extra room in the house to make it happen but we needed some time to heal as a family before doing it. When he first told me this was the type of dog his heart was set on I was a bit nervous and unsure. But the more I researched the more I realized it was the perfect breed for him! Also, before the “adopt don’t shop” comes at me, we love foster and rescue dogs and have had many in our home including our very own Comet who we kept! Anyone who knows us knows we have done fundraisers for shelter pets, been very involved with rescue, and have taken several fosters in. However, with Oliver being little, we felt with Chandler wanting a big dog we needed one to raise with him from a puppy. Also, we only use ethical breeders who sustain the quality of the breed when looking at buying instead of adopting. Ethical breeding is necessary to ensure the quality and continuation of some beautiful and magnificent breeds. Backyard breeders are NOT the same thing. I shouldn’t have to even explain ourselves but wanted to because I feared we would have some backlash. Anyway, enjoy the sweet video! Video credits to Brittany!
