I’ve used that term my whole life since I also have a CDIB card. I’ve just in the last few years started using Native American but knew what you meant.

Oh okay. As a Native American, many of us don't like or use that term. So I wasn't sure honestly. Personally, in my own opinion, I wish other Natives would stop being okay with it too. Some dont care.

In Canada we say “Indigenous”, but the legal term is “Indian”. Probs because it’s too much of hassle to change all the government paperwork to a new word

In my household, we say native. My kids/bd is Native and it’s not about being PC it’s about correcting the ignorant terms derived from earlier times… Personally I’d stop using that term… 1/3
