Normally I would agree, but in this case it was protested prior to the match, nothing was done, and it became an issue. That’s on the league.

15/20 years ago, even 10 years ago I didn't know a single ref. In the last 2 years I know them all, and its only because its rinse and repeat/mistake after mistake. They are not good enough...

Clattenburg never accused VAR of cheating and actually stated it wasn’t deliberate errors, but a mistake not to send the on field ref to the screen. Gary is conflating two very different statements.
