Your acid mantle should not be permanently harmed by the brief exposure to alkaline soap during normal bathing/showering. Only if you left it on for hours.

so when I started making my own bar soap in 2013, no one would listen to me telling them DOVE and other brands are horrific for them . Now it's all coming out . happy for that at least lol

the acid mantle adjusts back within like 30mins once sebum production normalizes, I would rather not have reoccurring infections and only worry about the skin on my face bc acne

yeah it's like soap is designed to be a alkaline to help remove dirt and oils so your glands don't get clogged and the sebum can come back fresh

This is so neat! I LOVE vanicream body wash I use it as face cleanser too. I just googled it has a pH of 5.5 so that must be whyyyyyyy

I use Kirk’s natural lye bar soap, since it has a ph of 5.5-6.5 and I have less acne using this soap and no other skin washes then I ever have. Definitely something to this!

That’s why it’s anti bacterial&anti fungal&anti microbial. You wash it off. It is drying so lotion afterwards if that bothers you. Some folds need it,

Real soap is usually 9-10, detergents are lower cause they’re synthetic. Just gotta pick your poison.
