☀ Whenever someone asks me for skincare tips, I always tell them that sunscreen is EVERYTHING! Proper sunscreen usage can help people reduce the future appearance of fine lines and/or hyperpigmentation, two of the most common skincare concerns. I have been the most diligent about sunscreen application and re-application these past few years and it has really helped my skin stay plump and mostly clear of pigmentation. The only thing that would make sunscreen better is if it actively helped with my acne 😆 Getting into the practice of wearing sunscreen daily starts with finding a sunscreen you like, which is more than half the battle as there are so many options on the market these days. But more options means a higher possibility you'll find a sunscreen that you enjoy wearing daily. No matter what the weather is like outside, I always start off the day with 2-3 fingers worth of SPF and if I'm going to be outside for more than a few hours, I always bring an SPF stick with me. I'm not going to drive myself crazy and set a timer on my phone to reapply every 2 hours on the dot, but I find that if I bring a sunscreen with me for re-application, there's a higher chance I remember to re-apply. Do you have a favorite sunscreen? #annaytime #sunscreenalways #sunscreentips
👌🏻 fingers worth of sunscreen is roughly the amount you should apply to get the recommended level of sun protection advertised on the sunscreen you're using, but of course, this is a LOT to apply all at once. One way to make application easier is just to apply it all over and wait around 30 seconds to 1 minute. Waiting gives the product some time to sink in, so applying and blending in the rest will be a bit easier. For oily, combo, and acne prone skin types, you can always skip moisturizer and just have your sunscreen serve as both your moisturizer + SPF for the day, depending on your preference of finish.
