@paleon_official: 🌊 Livyatan, the colossal predatory whale of the Miocene epoch, lived around 9 to 8 million years ago. It was one of the largest marine predators ever known, reaching lengths of up to 50 feet (15 meters) and weighing approximately 50 tons. With its enormous size and powerful jaws lined with massive teeth up to 12 inches (30 centimeters) long, Livyatan was a formidable apex predator in the ancient oceans. It likely preyed on large marine mammals such as seals, dolphins, and even other whales.
