cats are incredibly loving, they just have clear boundaries, and if you cross them they react. They really enjoy and seek out their human for social interaction

It's more about cats trusting us with their safety and comfort, rather then "liking us". And i think that's a greater compliment.

I learned that closed eyed thing in my youth. They also don't like to be stared at, so it helps if you nod your head up and look away. it calms them, they are more likely to be petted.

cats are very good judges of character . I like cats . they low maintenance but give a lot back. they can be disloyal and abscond to no 3 for treats

I read that cats have far shorter physical interaction time than humans do and that is why they get "bored". They are simply a different species.
