Something that always works is taking any short term installment (loan) that is ALREADY on your credit report and has reported for 6 months or more, pay off 90% of the remaining balance, leaving between 2-9% of the original loan amount remaining. Ask your lender to submit a rapid rescore, or do this 1-2 billing cycles before you apply for your mortgage (or even a car!) and you'll see any installment prioritized scores increase! Installment Prioritized Scores: - Mortgage scores: FICO 2, FICO 4, FICO 5 - FICO Auto Score 8 - FICO 10T There are approx 16 versions of our FICO score in use today, the algorithms of each scoring model differs slightly, and speaks to the requirement/preferences of the targeted industry or lender.
