Babies less than 2 months of age or a compromised immune system: - Boil water- let it cool down ~ 5 minutes and then mix (while still hot) with powder as instructed on the formula - Water first- then powder! - Always cool the formula down to body temperature and test it by placing a few drops on the inside of your wrist before feeding baby Babies older than 2 months of age and a normal immune system: - Ok to use normal tap water Why is this? Cronobacter is a bacteria that can be harbored in powdered formula. Always make sure you keep baby’s milk safe by carefully cleaning, sanitizing and storing feeding items. Keep the surrounding surfaces (countertops, sinks) and hands clean! You can also use pre-mixed liquid formula but that can be quite expensive! Do you have more questions about formula or bottles?
