Air Canada doesn’t have much control as to how the luggage gets handled at airports, but you can most definitely submit a claim they should respond seeing you have proof

It definitely got stuck in a conveyor belt system & was burned by the rubber. The majority of the bag's time on conveyor belts are through the AIRPORT baggage systems.

I flew with air Canada back in September 2023 from Dublin to Utah. I didn’t have a problem with my suitcase on the way there.

When we moved air Canada “lost” one of our huge steam trunks, got it back 17 years later with items missing and no explanation. Air Canada is absolutely horrible, always lost luggage when we travel.

Having worked at Pearson, I've seen the way air Canada handles luggage and its alot worse then the other ground crews, like out in the rain, falling off the carts left on the tarmac next to planes 💀

Always take pics of luggage (inside just before you leave home) then outside before you check your bag so you have record of contents and bag condition to avoid them lying
