Overtime gets taxed like normal income, just not on your paycheck. When you file taxes then it will get recalculated and should get some back

overtime is taxed at your highest estimated tax bracket. for me that's 22%. not counting everything else. but your check should still be more

If this is the case, tell your employer you will not work overtime bc it's a pay cut. I would quit if they refused to understand that & accommodate for it 😑
