Why do so many people hate the rule of law. If the police had the law on their side they would have told the principal he has no choice . They did not have a warrant . They did not have exigent circumstances . They wanted to question the student . School in most states are not open to the public . So the police need a warrant to search , a school safety officer can however do it without a warrant in their regular course of duties , this is a charter school for at risk students and former dropouts so yeah they are going to follow the rule of law . Hence when the safety officer arrived they did the search .

no the cops Willing to put a gun men in panic and have a shoot out in a school instead doing some work like nab the kid when school let's out.
