Yep yep 👍 it’s been so chill here. The only time I’ve gotten the stare is from other tourists. But from locals nope, not at all. I feel so comfortable here.

Living in Okinawa currently and YES !! I learned Japanese, and it makes it 10Xs more enjoyable. Only dealt with locals wanting to touch my braids but it’s so sincere not uncomfortable at all !

I think what you were trying to say was that being black in Japan. You feel welcomed, although it’s not your home country. You don’t get the same treatment from home.😭😭🤍🤍

As someone who lived in Okinawa for 4 years with the military.. I never wanted to leave. They treat us with SO much love . Black men, black woman.. they love us all. It’s so lit. Tokyo was a BLASST!!!

Yeah, I love the culture. I lived in Okinawa for 2 yrs in the late 90's. It was a great experience and the people were fantastic. everywhere I went people wanted to take pictures with me. 😂
