Have you heard of Oregon’s “Grand Canyon”?! 😍 📌 𝘚𝘢𝘷𝘦 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘺𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘧𝘶𝘵𝘶𝘳𝘦 𝘖𝘳𝘦𝘨𝘰𝘯 𝘢𝘥𝘷𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘶𝘳𝘦𝘴 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘴𝘩𝘢𝘳𝘦 𝘸𝘪𝘵𝘩 𝘺𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘣𝘦𝘴𝘵 𝘢𝘥𝘷𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘶𝘳𝘦𝘴 𝘱𝘢𝘭𝘴! Most people think of Oregon’s stunning coast or of its lush greenery & waterfalls (etc) when they picture this state! BUT, there’s a whole other side to her beauty.. 📍The Owyhee Canyonlands, Southeastern Oregon (aka: the loneliest corner of the west). It’s often referred to as Oregon’s very own “Grand Canyon” as well! This area blew me away! 😱🥹🤩 __________ ‼️Always remember to practice ALL the leave no trace principles! Pack out EVERYTHING you bring with you (all trash, waste etc). Obey any restoration/vegetation protection signs, OHV signage and/or fire and safety rules etc! Respect ALL wildlife! And important to know here: come prepared! There’s no service so download all your offline maps! Bring lots of water, snacks, meals and more! It’s the “middle of nowhere” (for instance, Leslie Gulch is about 25 miles down a dirt road). 🏜️ Northern Paiute, Bannock and Shoshone lands __________ 𝐌𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐢𝐧𝐟𝐨 ⤵️ •It’s MASSIVE! I’m talking 2.5 million+ acres and larger than YELLOWSTONE kind of massive! •There’s so many recreational activities: hiking, boating, fishing, rafting, wildlife viewing and much more! •Hot springs, any one? They’re all around here! 😀 •Highly recommend exploring the Leslie Gulch area (there’s also a free campground right near the Owyhee Reservoir there). •Also recommend the Succor Creek State Natural Area as well! •Other cool places: Jordan Craters, Alvord Desert and more! •Swing by the historic “Rockhouse Cafe” in one of the closest towns (Jordan Valley) for delicious burritos, ice cream, various treats and baked goods PLUS all the coffee beverages you can imagine! 🤤 ❓Do you want to explore this wild land? ____ #oregonadventures #oregonexplored #traveloregon #oregonnw #adventuretravel #bucketlistadventures #traveldeeper
