@heavenlyhomeschool: Please go volunteer at your local public school to see for yourself what this teacher is talking about. The coddling of today’s children in America is a PROBLEM. Parents are teaching their children to have zero respect for authority including their own parents. Teach your children accountability. Actions have consequences. GET THEM OFF THE SCREENS!!!! Teach them how to interact in the world. TELL THEM NO!!!!!!!!! Play the rolling stones song “you can’t always get what you want” over and over again. Yes I am an old school mom and I proud of that. My children understand boundaries and have respect for authority. Do we deal with tantrums? Oh my gosh yes. But we do NOT give in to them. Bullying — this is a huge disgusting problem and of course I wish my children never have to experience it. But this is life. They are going to have to understand that they can survive it. It will build character. They need to be put in these situations so they can learn to stick up for themselves and move past it. If they’re never put in these predicaments, they will never feel strong enough to deal with them on their own in the future. Thank you Dr. Phil for raising me when I was a kid in the early 2000s (literally he taught my single mom how to parent me) and for helping me now 25 years later. I watched this episode with my kids.
