Your gut is your second brain, think of it as working in unison with your brain (your gut and brain are besties who text eachother all the time - different messages) - hence when you feel anxious you can feel physical symptoms in your gut. (They work together) Gut health isn’t as simple as taking a probiotic. Natural probiotics are actually fermented foods and we need to feed them to keep them alive with fibre (in veg) that can withstand digestion and reach your gut bacteria alive (most of it is in your large intestine - which is right next to your colon (where you poop from)). We need to aim to each 20-30 plants for our gut health. Because different pre and pro biotics create and feed different microbes in the gut. Seems hard but it’s not as overwhelming as it seems. For example for breakfast i ate, yoghurt (probiotics) - with nuts, banana, blueberries, seeds and honey. So my breakfast contained around 8 different plants alone. Just start trying to notice the diverse range of fruit and veg in your diet and add more in. What to avoid and minimise for a healthy gut? Smoking, processed food, alcohol, antibiotics, ibuprofen on an empty stomach, constantly eating (doesn’t give your gut a break). Note - if you don’t eat a lot of fruit and veg already, don’t straight away start eating a load of different types! This can be overwhelming for your gut, slowly introduce more and more each week. (Ps - pretty much all veg are prebiotic foods btw - the ones i have listed are just higher in fibre (prebiotics) #guthealth #guttok #guthealthtips #guthealthtiktok #gut #probiotics #prebiotics #whatisguthealth #guthealthjourney
