Too bad that no one’s kitchen ever gets a beautiful full slab. Once it’s cut down for regular countertops, it’s really busy.

Yeah active veined stone looks great as a slab. But cut it to 24” countertop depth and the veining looses its scale and the overall effect is lost. Good design is all about scale and proportion.
