@mrcurmisclassroom: 🗣️ BEST classroom management tool for noise level - “Bouncy balls does not work because kids will get silly intentionally and make them louder”. This is a phrase I hear all too often and it’s time to put it to bed 🛌. High expectations + immediate follow up = it will be successful, just like any other aspect of the classroom. Why has this classroom tool worked in each of my classes (including on sub/relief days in the past) year after year after year? Introducing it with high expectations and following up immediately when a student doesn’t take it seriously. Class comes in noisy? Go back and re do to reinforce your high expectation. Class off topic during group work? Re do and display high expectations. Students make bouncyballs go off intentionally and are purposely loud? Stop 🛑 and revisit how the website is used. It continues? Stop 🛑 and follow up end of session. It is up to the teacher to develop and maintain high expectations! Remember - You’re in charge, not the students!
