The last week or so I’ve been working on my new DIY project, this “organic” style coffee table! ✨ We’re only a couple of weeks away from being in our new home, and we need a second coffee table since we’ve got a main living room + a theatre/ rumpus room. I’m worried that in our main living room, since it’s not a big space, that the current coffee table we have is too big for the area, so that will go in our theatre room. I wanted something small, round, low and a bit fun, but still neutral, and I’ve recently been seeing this styles pop up, but wow, some crazy prices! One of them I found was $22k, but I just can’t believe that’s the actual price?! 🤯 The ones that were more reasonable prices weren’t in the sizes or colour I was after, and that’s the beauty of DIY, you can really customise something to fit your space perfectly 👏🏽 I filmed everything on how I made it, so when I get the chance I’ll do an in-depth reel, and also post each step to my stories, but in short, I got a basic coffee table off good old FB marketplace for $30 for the top, and bought 6 plant pots from @Bunnings to make the round legs - and all up, including extra materials it cost me under $200 🙌🏽 I was talking to someone on here the other day about DIYS, as they were asking how to get into it, because they’d love to but can’t find the motivation. For me, I think it all started when I will little. My mum is super crafty, so I grew up doing lots of creative craft projects with her, and we also didn’t have a great deal of money, so we repurposed our same furniture so many times over the years, which we found a joy in doing! I also LOVE saving money 😆 so I get so much joy from doing the actual project itself, but just as much joy afterwards seeing what I created, and how much money I saved!
