they USED to be good to help stopping bots. NOW they're used to train AI. captcha is an arms race but captcha hasn't done much recently to improve. it's now using the "war" as an excuse to train AI.

When I was trying to track a letter on the Royal mail once, I’ve got a really difficult CAPTCHA that required you to identify the silhouettes. I have a visual impairment so that made this hard.

i work at a call centre we need to fill these out daily, multiple times. it gets so bad we sometimes need to transfer customers to another person cos it locks us out if we need it during a call
