Sounds like we need a follow-up law. If an institution attempts to balance bill someone with out of network emergency coverage, the biller must pay a $250,000 fine.

I work in the ED as the person who works with the insurance companies. If an estimate isn’t shown before you leave, technically they’ve broken the no surprise act. The name I’m implies the reason.
