Chinese American woman here. I was Taught husband gives all salary to wife and receive a pocket money. My Chinese Dad spoiled my Chinese mom. Whoever had time( usually off days) dad/mom would cook and did household chores. Not 50/50 but NO expectations of woman to do everything. Always told “Happy mom, happy dad.” It’s true. Happy wife, happy life!

as an older woman, I would never go 50/50 with any man. He pays. and I get control. period. that's because if a man makes all the money and has control of all of it, the power goes to his head. He starts thinking his role is more important.

I think one good thing in Singapore is that you get to choose what kind of idealogy you prefer. whether be it closer to a western mindset or eastern one. We get to learn and optimize to have a better way of managing things like finances. there's no one perfect way after all
