I live in a predominantly white area and I always thought of my skin as being the prettiest and always get compliments on my dark skin. I'm always being told and beautiful even in my older age.

Glad I’m from Texas. Even when I lived in Georgia no one said “fair” to describe a light skin person. It’s light and dark. That’s it.

The word “fair” meaning light skinned or pale dates back to 1500’s European etymology old English fæger meaning pale vs “dusky,” or “sallow..”
