@bratbustersparenting: Nine year old swears a lot? I would put down on the BratBusters Behaviour Board that their rule is no swearing. This board has rules and consequences, but not just for the kids. You’re on the board too, as the whole family has to be accountable. When you’re setting yourself up as a leader for your kids, remember to take accountability for their actions, especially when they are between the ages of 3-12. That’s when you’re at the heigh of your leadership as a part. If your kids are acting out, don’t you want the accountability? When you take the responsibility for how your kids act, that’s when you can also start to improve their behaviour. So take full responsibility. It’s all about you and your leadership. You lead, they will follow. So be a leader, you become a safe place to land. You’re the one who makes them feel good about themselves. You increase their self esteem. You guide them into making good choices. When they respect you, they respect themselves. Not sure where to start in your calm leadership journey? Check out my BratBusters Behaviour Board that I send to my parenting newsletter, linked in my bio. Then, if you’re interested in learning the tools I teach for parenting like a calm leader, check out the BratBusters Bootcamp, linked in my bio. ` ` ` #ParentingJourney #ParentingTools #ParentingFromTheHeart #ParentingMindset

As a parent of a child “diagnosed with ODD” I completely agree. I struggle with the behaviors I’m not around to see. He’s good with me, but not in school.

So spot on! I don’t have your education but your style and opinion is exactly my parenting style. My childhood was abusive so I did everything in my power to educate myself to be the best parent 👍🏻

Ok so this is my 4yr old. People saying he needs therapy. And while I agree, I know it’s parenting. But my other kids aren’t like that…it’s so hard.
