🤤 Heard y’all was calling this the African fruit punch 🌺🇳🇬? 🪄 Across the African diaspora, this vibrant deep-red drink goes by many names - Zobo in Nigeria, Sorrel in Jamaica, and Bissap in Senegal. It’s that soulful, delicious, antioxidant-rich goodness made from hibiscus flowers that every auntie swears by! ✨ Today I’m sharing my twist on this classic. 😂😅TBH I just used what I had. Some people add oranges and orange juice. I’ve even seen people add cucumbers. 𝗜𝗻𝗴𝗿𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀: • 3 cups dried hibiscus flowers (clean & sorted) • 1 pineapple, peeled & chopped (define would’ve used 2 but we working with what we got! 😅) • 3 cinnamon sticks • 6 whole cloves • Fresh ginger (I love it strong, so I use a lot! Adjust to your taste 😉) • Honey to taste (I used about 1/2 cup, adjust to your sweetness level) • 9 cups water to start off. I just make sure it’s covered 𝗠𝗲𝘁𝗵𝗼𝗱: 1. Bring water to a boil in a large pot 2. Add hibiscus flowers, pineapple skin, cinnamon, and cloves 3. Reduce heat and simmer for 25-30 mins 4. Strain and let cool completely 5. While it’s cooling, blend pineapple and ginger together until smooth (you can use a juicer if you have one!) 6. Strain the blended mixture to get that smooth juice 💯 7. Once the hibiscus tea is completely cool, add your pineapple-ginger juice 8. Add honey to taste 9. Serve over ice! ❄️ Pro tip: Let the flavors “marry” overnight in the fridge for maximum flavor! 💫 Follow for more healthy herbal recipes and ancient wisdom 😄 #zobo #nigerianfoodie #sorreldrink #zobojuice #antioxidantrich #gingershot #gingershots #herbsforhealth
