Oh yeah, went to Oirase Gorge in October last year from Aomori. They had to put in like 5 extra buses to get all the tourists there and some people complained. I was just grateful they bothered

I did a whv visa 1 yr in 04/05 and I miss that Japan where there was only a handful of tourist and just a few English teachers living there

I am currently in Kyoto. I've been in Japan for a month to travel and explore. and I can say for certain that the major of tourist in the country Is insane. the majority are amaricans. who are so loud you can here them behind walls and doors. I'm so sad it got to the way it does. because Japan is an amazing place. and it should treated this way.

Kyoto is very walkable I highly recommend walking as much as possible there. I was there off season and before tourists returned to Japan post pandemic and I still walked as much as possible 😅

Honestly. Tokyo is struggling too. We cannot handle it. I can’t imagine how hard it is in smaller cities like Kyoto :( I feel like the government is prioritizing money from tourism over residents

now there is the hop on hop off tourist bus in Kyoto, tourists need to learn about it so they can leave the normal buses free
