Chennai Style Chicken Biryani 😋 Ingredients: * 500 gms chicken  * 1 cup basmati rice * 1.5 cups water * 2 large onion, thinly sliced * 2 tomatoes, sliced  * 4 green chillies * 1/2 cup chopped mint leaves * 1/2 cup chopped coriander leaves * 1 tbsp ginger garlic paste * 1 tsp red chilli powder * 1/2 tsp turmeric powder * 2-3 small cinnamon sticks * 5 cloves * 3 cardamom  * 3 tbsp oil or ghee * Salt to taste For Marination: * 1 tsp red chilli powder * 1/2 tsp turmeric powder * 1/4 cup curd * 1/2 Lemon juice * Salt to taste Instructions: 1. Clean the chicken and mix it with all the ingredients listed under 'For Marination'. Set aside for at least 20 minutes. 2. Rinse the rice with water and soak it for 30 minutes. 3. Add cinnamon, cloves, cardamom and onion to a pan. Add oil and fry for few mins. Add green chillies and salt and saute until onions turn golden brown. 4. Add the chopped tomatoes, ginger garlic paste and cook until they turn soft and mushy. 5. Add red chilli powder, turmeric powder, coriander leaves and mint leaves. Saute for 2-3 minutes until the spices are well combined. 6. Add the marinated chicken and cook for 5 minutes on medium-high heat. 7. Add water and bring to a boil. 8. Drain the soaked rice and add it to the mixture. Mix everything well. 9. Cover the pan with a tight-fitting lid and cook on low flame for 10 minutes or until the rice is cooked and the chicken is tender. 10. Turn off the heat and let the biryani rest for 15 minutes. 11.
