i got into kpop in 2020 and ever since then up until a few months ago, ive stanned sooo many groups and wanted to go to all of their concerts and buy all of their merch, albums, etc. it got so exhausting and draining keeping up and it consumed so much of my time and money. not only that, but it has just become so toxic within the fandoms and even the companies as well. i always viewed kpop as a safe and happy place, which it was for those 3+ years, but it’s definitely far from that now. it started feeling more like a chore than something fun and enjoyable, which is why i got out of it and stopped stanning everyone except for svt, they will forever be my ult and i will always stan them, keep up with them, listen to their music, post about them, go to their concerts, buy their albums/merch, etc. i also still stan a few more groups like enha, piwon, xg, katseye, epex, etc but they’re casual and as for everyone else, i dont stan anymore, i just listen to their music and watch edits. overall, kpop has made me so happy and got me out of one of my worst stages in life and it also changed me as a person for the better and helped me in many ways. i’ll forever love and be grateful for kpop, but stepping back was definitely something that i needed to do, especially since after a while, instead of it helping me, it started to destroy my mental health. im much happier now after stepping back and only prioritizing svt and focusing on them, while casually stanning a few other favorite groups. #fyp #svt #seventeen #carat #kpop
