A UC Davis study published this month tested chips, mayonnaises, and salad dressings labelled as made with avocado oil. 89% were fake. Zero consequences for putting soybean oil in a bag that says avocado. UC Davis has now run three separate studies — 2020, 2023, and 2026. Every single one found mass adulteration. The fraud rate hasn't dropped. It's climbing. The same researchers tested 20 olive oil products — 95% were authentic. Olive oil has enforceable international standards. Avocado oil has nothing.
