For me it's just fear. I cut my thumb opening a can of dog food bad enough that I have permanent nerve damage. It's made me incredibly nervous to open them ever since.

That’s why they made can openers because people can’t open it by themselves. They have to use the machine just to use it and it’s super easy to use even I know how to use it and I’m a child
