There are so many things to teach before even doing jump training. Let them be dogs and learn how to comfortably live in the world. I don't understand what the rush is.

Omg. My first and current trainers always said no jumping at all until a year and then very gradually to let them grow and build muscle, so no full height until at least 2. They also said no stairs

If you just HAVE to work on agility jumps, there is so much more to it than the height of the jump. You can work on wraps and stuff like that with the pole on the ground.

I didn’t officially start agility work with Fib until she was like 18 months old. I think her first trial she was 3 years old. There’s no rush to get them into the ring, people! Let them grow up.

the only jumping I've taught my almost 9 week old puppy (as of tomorrow) is how to get up and down steps so I don't have to take her all the way down to the grass myself

If they absolutely have to learn “jumps” at that age. Teach them without the jump. Walk through patterns. It’s not worth risking permanent joint damage. I don’t see why it is a must at that age
