@dougdoesdelicious: Cooking doesn’t need to be hard or complicated. Often, you're simply looking for a recipe that gets you most of the way there with minimal effort, hence 80/20. Here are some of the tricks to making a simple yet delicious Japanese curry that takes LESS than 10 minutes to prep and can be made entirely in your rice cooker (or instant pot). This approach and use of what some people would say are their magic flavor boosters deliver most of the results without the fuss of sautéing ingredients or simmering over a pot. Definitely grated apple! I learned a TikTok trick. If your curry is too runny just add some instant mashed potato. Works like a charm

My favorite secret ingredients are beef stock, cocoa powder, and espresso powder. I was surprised not to see espresso on here. Mixed with the cocoa they do the same thing but balance out really well.

Cinnamon and nutmeg ELEVATE any curry. I was trying to figure out what is the magic to Indian curry, it’s sweet spices that western cooking reserves for sweet fruity dishes

I finally made this today, and it was delicious! I added a bit more spice afterwards, and the parents loved it. It's crazy how little effort it takes for such an incredible result. Thanks!
