и с такими эмоциями они никогда не поймут, что даже если она занята, она все равно ждет знака внимания от него, банально приехать к ней на работу и подарить киндер, но они никогда не поймут

Hollister’s financial crisis came into full view earlier this month when City Manager Ana Cortez told the City Council the city had no money in reserves and less than $200 in its general fund. “When we had $178 — let me repeat that, not thousand, $178 — in our bank account for the general fund, those are facts,” Cortez said. Councilmembers were shocked. “How long have we been really bad with money? How long has this been going on?” Councilman Rudy Picha asked. Cortez said the problem started a decade ago, claiming the city failed to maintain sufficient reserves, conduct financial audits and reconcile its bank accounts. “What that means is for the last four years, we have not balanced our checking book. Simple as that. We have statements from the banks. Maybe we have money, maybe we don’t. We don’t know,” Cortez said. At a special meeting on Oct. 2, the City Council declared a financial emergency and agreed to borrow $18 million from other city accounts to meet payroll. Cortez said tough decisions would follow. “We will reduce ongoing expenditures. That is a fact. That is not personal. That is not political. That is simply responsible. That is what a responsible city manager does,” Cortez said. “Layoffs have to be the last resort. The city’s already lost too much experience and institutional knowledge. Before another employee loses their job, show us the real numbers,” former Hollister Mayor Mia Casey said at the meeting. The city announced job cuts Wednesday. Moving forward, Cortez said, Hollister will need to restore its general fund reserves, strengthen financial controls, collect outstanding debts and reduce expenditures in an effort to restore financial stability. Cortez also suggested the City Council consider tax increases to generate more revenue. A special town hall meeting is scheduled for Oct. 16 to discuss budget concerns, according to Councilman Rolan Resendiz.
