TIL;jazz and War are strangely tied. look into the harlem hellfighters and all those musicians. vicious battalion in the field, but they essentially were the first jazz tour of France too.

So interesting! I’ve heard that early electronic music had a similar thing where cheap radio / technical gear from after WW2 was available for some of the pioneers of electronic sounds 1950s/60s etc
