Longer rod /does/ increase compression ratio though. It does reduce BDC volume, but by less percentage than it reduces TDC volume, ergo CR +

😳 that makes no sense adding material to the top of the piston is the exact same thing as adding it to the bottom ie. rod length. longer rods do create a smaller chamber essentially

I thought it will still increase cr. Wouldnt a larger bdc mean more air/fuel is drawn in the cylinder from vacuum to compress also? Then back at top dead center it would have less volume.

If you decrease combustion chamber volume you increase compression ratio. Not much but it is a ratio change. Increased ratio.

This 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 compression is measured by stroke volume vs combustion volume.. longer rod will keep stroke volume but decrease combustion volume so CR will go up!!!!
