we were at that concert when it happened. Jon announced it on stage and he was not happy. he then started playing the guitar part of wanted dead or alive.

Steve van Zandt did the same thing. he cut his nose to spite his face and by his own admission, screwed himself financially for years until returning to the e street band 15 years later.

he nearly quit after new Jersey due to burnout so think it was always on the cards. agree things probs got stale and he needed a Refresh. his solo stuff tho wasn't great. the partnership is what makes it gold. maybe he'll come back in some way.

After watching the doc I can see why he left. Jon was a control freak, got most of the credit & adoration. Also to talk about Bon Jovi being a band for 40yrs without Richie is crazy.
