Got a friend living in an apartment w three kids, sent her a Zillow of 2500sqft home she said, it’s cute but too “small”. Meanwhile she can’t afford a 500k home w 6%. Ppl be so unrealistic

I have never ever understood those who agree to a variable rate. why th would you gamble like that. you can't predict whether the payment will stay within your means.

Lesson 1- use your head & not your heart when making decisions. It will always be beneficial for you and your loved ones. There’s no such thing as luck, but chance does exists,& that’s a gamble.

Variable interest rate is almost not a thing in the US for long term mortgage. If any bank even utter variable for a long term mortgage, people would just laugh on their way to the next bank.

people never learn to be smart... don't take anything in installments from the bank, the car, the house, electrical appliances, but nothing! you can afford it, you buy it, no, you don't buy it

You’re just ready for bigger better battles. You’ll even turnout as a multi-millionaire in a decade. You went through a lesson no one is ready for. This mistake will change your life for the better.

I’m so sorry OP. That’s hard to lose, but remember to think of the sunk cost fallacy. Sometimes starting over can be ok. Especially with that mortgage.

before me and my partner bought our home, we calculated that even with a x5 mortgage increase we'd still be fine. don't live on the brink of your means is a good tip

Many people think I'm "rich". Nope. I purchased a home that was comfortable & affordable. I paid it off & it's now worth 5x more than when I purchased it. I'm lucky!

We all make mistakes, what’s important is that we learn, and better still, share what we’ve learned with others so that just maybe, they don’t have to learn the hard way like we did. You sir did both
