@broadway_memories: It’s a busy day! It’s the last day of the month, it’s the dawn of duel new series, it’s a Tuesday and, most critically, the morning that Tony Nominations are announced! Today’s last bit of “stunt” casting was chosen to represent it all! Rosie O’Donnell (@rosie) filled the role of Broadway’s Fairy Godmother for MANY years! Her talk show highlighted many wonderful Broadway shows and entertainers and her own efforts saved shows like Titanic and Taboo! Show: Seussical Song: “How Lucky You Are” Seussical is a musical comedy by Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty, based on the many children’s stories of Dr. Seuss, with most of its plot being based on Horton Hears a Who!, Gertrude McFuzz, and Horton Hatches the Egg while incorporating many other stories. The musical’s name is a portmanteau of “Seuss” and the word “musical”. Roseann (“Rosie”) O’Donnell is an American comedian, television producer, actress, author, and television personality. She began her comedy career as a teenager and received her breakthrough on the television series Star Search in 1984. After a series of television and film roles that introduced her to a larger national audience, O’Donnell hosted her own syndicated daytime talk show, The Rosie O’Donnell Show, between 1996 and 2002, which won several Daytime Emmy Awards. During this period, she developed the nickname “Queen of Nice”, as well as a reputation for philanthropic efforts. Enjoy!
