When you squat, you are vertically loaded, so at the top there is nothing there for your glutes to contract against, hence no squeeze is necessary. Getting a little 🤏🏼 glute contraction at the top is fine, as long as you don't excessively push your hips forward & it doesn't throw off your technique! It's not the actual squeeze, it's the "pushing your hips forward motion" (hyperextending your lower back) we need to avoid.
