Really? Ok so maybe someone told you about belt time and you believed that. On these applications the belts for the water pump and alternator only need to be the same length or one will be loose.

matching belts or one will get loose or break a big deal on industrial blowers and the pulleys must be well aligned

you can advance them a bit when you tractor pull.. but in the field you want to set them back to stock. make sure to do the same to both tho.
