As a teacher, I always called students by the name they requested, as long as parents went along with it. But I know in Spanish and French classes, they do go by the translated name.

I can’t stand when people say my name wrong, Spanish class or not if somebody tells you not to say their name in a specific way, you don’t say their name that way. Teachers who would give me nicknames or change my name because they didn’t want to learn how to say it would get ignored by me
