If they’re going over their deadlines, put in complaints and push it through! They have a 20week deadline and should be sticking to it (as a senco here)

Are they going past the EHCP deadlines? If they have I would put in a complaint and it might speed them up. I’m sorry, I had a little one in SEN nursery so I am very surprised to hear this!

my daughter is the same but we were unlucky and she was refused a place at a sen school had to put her in mainstream but they had a sen department which she is thriving at

Definitely defer her to give you a chance to get things sorted for her- the EHCP for example. The extra time may hugely benefit her anyway.

Also, if you want to, you can request she stays in nursery until compulsory school age (term after 5th birthday) so she could potentially stay there!

we had a similar experience with my youngest, Luca sounds just like Hermione. you need to make a case for her personal safety and how she cannot be safe without enhanced supervision. xxx

got EHCP, loads of evidence, daughter autistic non verbal. LA still put mainstream school! even though school had said can't take on her needs x

Something needs doing about it its awful! My son got deferred took nearly a year for the EHCP so he missed reception :( finally he has a place this year in september and EHCP all done at age of 5

We’ve got an ehcp and a diagnosis and we still didn’t get a Sen school this year so my boys re-doing nursery again with the hopes we get one next year it’s not fair 😩😩
