I was raised this way, for me personally all it did was make me smarter/sneakier and constantly lie to my mom. We had a VERY rocky relationship all my teen years. Thankfully we have now repaired it

As a 33 year old, this sounds like micromanagement. The blanket thing is fine, whatever. But the phone thing is wild. I also want to know how much screen time you allow yourself?

as a teenager with very unstrict parents, teens with strict parents don't feel protected, they feel frustrated and (most of the time) the parent won't listen because they think their kid is happy.
